My old ceramics teacher was THROWING OUT these cute little vases- how wasteful! I dug em out of the trash and saved them & now I use em for my incense & to hold pieces for my paintings.

What I wore:: Velvet & Black Heels

The other day, I felt like being fancy and wearing my velvet mini dress that I love & my lovely boyfriend loves. I was going to wear flats then decided on my new pumps- I felt like Edie Sedgewick! So fancyfull- I needed full hair. Serious business. I curled my hair and when I was done used so much hair spray Dolly Parton would be proud. I threw on my chunky cardigan so I wouldn't look way to dressy- just too cool for school and my Edgar Allen Poe Necklace from Fable & Fury so I wouldn't look sugary sweet.
I was originally going to wear my cap toe pumps to go for a 20's flapper feel but I went with the black for an awesome 60's feel instead, hence the pictures of both.
All in all- le outfit was a success. James lurved it and I felt like a boss during our portfolio grading- which went very well for me by the way.

Basically everything at Savers is nice- they really look their items over before re-sell. I got a fisherman's sweater, some mugs, and a pretty scarf too.... also... a mushroom stick pin!! I'm going to do a seperate post about those.

Children's Book

The past week I have been so sick! I am illustrating a children's book and just got one page done, thankfully the drawings are not due technically until January but I want to get them done- I feel better when I am ahead of schedule, especially when I'm working on such a cool project as these illustrations.
Due to copyright I cannot publish any of the pictures until I am done but they are going to be targeted towards younger children so they will not involve zombies, decay, or fungi! Shocking!!
I am enjoying myself with this current project and cannot wait to share it with everyone!

Support

I got such great advice & support from my new head professor today.
It made me so happy & relieved- yeah I'm an adult but anyone at any age needs encouragement to know they are doing good.
I was given so many cool ideas & we worked together to come up with the next phase in my painting career. I'm so excited to start it & try my hand at something new!

What I wore:: Hipster Sweater

Ashes & Fire by Ryan Adams

As he stared past the fire,
His hunger to leave well it gnawed his poor heart alive,
Her skin smelled like black cherry, blossom perfume, the sail boats they all sailed by... and a river she cried.

and the wind was suddenly sweeter than Roosevelt pine,
The windows broke out and the cigarette smoke was drifting by,
The bums on the bowery were swallowed in the lights as cars rumbled by in the night... screaming run for your life.

With cool and silvery eyes and a heart that was fit for desire, drowned in a river of tears oh a river she cried left her with a heart... made of ashes and fire.

One day there was a silence and it washed through the town,
and there was no reason to speak so no one made a sound,
her eyes were indigo and the cats were all Calico and the sail boats they all sailed by... and a river she cried.

With cool and silvery eyes and a heart that was fit for desire, drowned in a river of tears oh a river she cried left her with a heart... made of ashes and fire.

Ashes and fire, Ashes and fire, Ashes and fire.
