Ugh

I'm so sick, and I don't know with what. I got better a few weeks ago but it came back with a vengeance.
Right now I'm working on some art, because it always makes me feel good to do so & drinking some coffee. Coffee is like a hug from the universe.
Hopefully I'm not sick with anything too serious, I've got a lot to do here!

Favorites

For my favorites posts I'm going to do something different than most bloggers- I'm going to post things I already have.
Lé gasp! Yes- I am. I've come to notice that people get to fixated on what they don't have instead of what they do- including me- and I want to change that. So here is my first post of favorites that I have already!

1) my mushroom salt shakers
2) my Abe Lincoln doll
3) my Green Day poster from the early 90's
4) a painting that I bought from one of my very good & talented friends.

Cash, Money, Cars & growing up.

I've been thinking alot about money lately, as most people do I'm sure, but this time I've REALLY been thinking about it. During the past few weeks I've been extra careful how I spend my money, I've taken inventory of my wardrobe and my accessories, especially my shoes, and if I've gotten the itch to treat myself I am super selective if I buy something new or I go to a thrift store. Even then, when things cost $5 at most I'm still constantly thinking "do I need this" "What will this match that I already have?"

I pay rent, keep gas in my car, fix my car,  buy my special groceries since I'm a vegetarian & my family they are not, pay for guitar lessons & my own books at school. I think it was fun when I could spend my extra cash on clothes etc, but now that I'm older it gives me a sense of confidence that I'm able to pay for all these things just mentioned and once in a while treat myself.

I can also see the difference in people in my life who don't pay for as much as I do versus the ones that do. I believe this is a normal part of growing up but it's pretty surreal to be noticing these things- I don't even try, I feel like my parents! I always want to say things such as "I thought you didn't have money" as someone drops a lot of money on something (by a lot I mean a few hundred) but complains over the cost of a $2 coffee.

Things I want to treat myself to now are gallery memberships, books & antiques, supplies for my art and really unique clothing, things I wouldn't normally find & that I will keep for years. These are the same things my Ma & Grandma treat themselves to!

I do believe I'm growing up.

Just uploaded some new pictures of my artwork to my gallery.

Shirt: Clothes Mentor
Scarf: Boutique
Jeans: Plato's Closet
Boots: Plato's Closet

I've become completely addicted to red lipstick! If you have not noticed yet.
This outfit I wore to guitar lessons, and the drawing of George Harrison I gave to my teacher because one of his students drew all over his walls & other students artwork- including mine. Needless to say I was furious but instead of letting that get me down I'm going to draw him new pictures for his lesson room. The student that did such a stupid thing got in trouble so my art will be safe.
The deer in the cemetery picture is one of my favorites. I took it in the pet cemetery, going to visit my dog's grave. They were grazing right by his grave! I was amazed at how close they let me get before they ran off.
Kind of a random post, but my life is kind of random & I like it :)

Macklemore Thriftshop Challenge

I took the challenge!
What you do is:
1) post a picture of yourself outside a thriftshop with $20. I did not do this because I used my card- & I didn't want to be flashing it around, BUT I did only spend $20.
2) take a picture of a lyric in the song. I took a picture of myself in a "Big ass coat, from that thriftshop down the road"
3) post what you got for your $20!
It was so much fun!!!
Details of the outfit I shopped in:
Sweater: Goodwill
Scarf: Christmas gift
Jeans: Kohl's sale
Boots: Plato's Closet

I got two tee shirts, the grey one & a mint one not shown, a lace button up, a slouchy tee with mesh cutout parts- so cool! & a long sleeve tee. The fur coat was huge, heavy & rather scary.
