What I Wore

Dress: Modcloth
Tights: H&M
Flats: Walmart
Sweater: H&M

My Instagram has been doing great! I'm so happy people enjoy my art & my outfit posts- it's cool to know that what I've got going on is something fun.
I really want this necklace , it reminds me of the one Nicki Minaj wears! I would want mine to say something funny like Pirate or Bibliophile. Since I love books so much & my parents call me a pirate because of my nose ring ;p Anywho, this outfit was fun to wear- especially when my adorable chem teacher came up & felt it & said "oh you look so cute- but this no good for lab, you get acid on it & then there are holes & you cry because your kitty dress ruined!" .... " your dress is so pretty!"
Yesterday was a pretty good day.

My friend & I wore the same thing but in reverse! We tried to take a good picture with my camera timer but we are fools so we ended up with this funny one!
I got my vintage fashion journal for Christmas & I write my ideas for all my art projects in it. It's always a good idea to keep a journal in my opinion.
Then there is Poco & I, we are both camera hams, he's my best buddy- and he puts up with my sillyness.

February Wish List

I've noticed that all my favorite blogs create wish lists, I am horrible at creating wish lists. My Ma has to basically threaten me to make a Christmas list each year.
For some reason I'm just not into having stuff, I love clothing, but then I go through it and donate bags & bags to charity. I like things I can use, and things that have sentimental value more than specific items.
So, here is my first go at a wish list!! May be unconventional but it's 100% me thats for sure.
- I would like one of those old war jackets that are in Antique shops, the ones with all the medals still on them- from some family that has all passed on and there is this awesome coat left. I don't really know if I would wear it, or could since it's so old it may be too fragile but the look of them is so cool & the way soldiers protect us I fully respect so I would love to own one of these coats.
-Also, I really love funky towels and home items. I have no home of my own yet but I want to start a hope chest. I  think it would be fun to look in it and see all the cute things I've collected for my future home. It has always been my dream to own my own house, a Queen Anne Victorian specifically. My style is interesting, I love traditional things but generally the more fun & unusual items catch my eye. Here are some things I think are adorable!

So there you go, there is my wish list. Not exactly like everyone else's but hey, neither am I!

Wiring my canvases

Okay, so if you are going to be in any art show- you need a wire on the back of your canvas.
You may have not been taught this in school- as I was not- but it's important to do- preferably BEFORE you have made your art.
I've gotten help from a gallery owner in my town about wiring & such it was a very nice thing for her to do.
It makes it easier for potential future owners of your work to be able to hang the piece in their home.
It's hard to do until you get the hang of it but it's essential if you are going to be showing & selling your work.
You need screw eyes, wire, wire cutters & something to get the holes started on the back of your canvas.
And, remember to test your wiring to make sure your painting will stay on the wall- not on the floor!!!!
Good luck!!

I have a giant canvas

I have a giant canvas that I do not know what to do with.
I was thinking about getting into making collages, but then, those are just not personal enough for me. Honestly, I could look at 100 collages from my best friends and not know who made what so that idea I just rejected.
I am pondering about drawing all over it, one giant zen tangle of sorts- then coloring it in, but then again I'm not sure If I would be content with the results.
I don't know if I want to make a giant painting- I have made one, and I do love how it came out. It was sold to one of my old managers, she is my friend just not my manager anymore. I was just basically forced to make a large painting by a bad teacher I had and I just made it to keep her off my back. The painting looks wonderful & in the end I was glad I made it but honestly working smaller in my paintings is more my style.
Maybe I can fill up the canvas with small drawings and eventually all the drawings can come together to form one big awesome one.
I just look at this canvas everyday wanting to do something to it but I cannot make up my mind.

Start of my day

Just got a new book, notes for more drawings for the book I'm illustrating & my face... All worried & weirded out because I'm STILL sick... Eew. I have a nice shift at work today, I'm working in a department I love- just hopefully I don't loose my voice!!
