Zombie Cameos

I've decided to mount my zombie drawings on colored paper to resemble cameos & to connect to the colors in my paintings.
I chose bright paper to add a bit of humor & whimsy & to also further highlight the fact that these are not your average cameo portraits. This is also why I left the paper square.
Some of my zombies have animal parts: I draw them so because I imagine them decaying & trying to put themselves together however they can, much like we as humans do when a bad event occurs.
Here is my first zombie cameo- there will deffinately be lots more to come!

Get ready for more! Yay!!

  2. Forgive me if I answered you twice, my Internet is working slow & my first answer is not showing up

I'm very glad you like my art thank you very much. I did have a series of related horrible events that went on for years of my life. Thankfully now everything is okay & I am safe.
I do sell my work, once I am done with art school in December I want to open an Etsy shop where my Deer Man will be for sale. For now I mostly sell to people by word of mouth or out of my studio in Buffalo, NY.
Thank you for your comment it was so kind, it gave me extra confidence & the knowledge that I'm doing a good thing by making my blog.
    Sincerely,
    Lauren

  3. I am very sorry to hear you had a series of horrible events, how old were you when the horrible events started. I hope everything goes good for you and you open up your Etsy shop so I can come and buy your art, maybe you can do some jewelry and victorian head wraps or barrettes, I really like that style.

    1. I was very young, things happen- I don't let it get me down :) those items sound awesome for my future shop! Thanks for the suggestions, it's cool to find someone who likes my art & the Victorian era too!

    2. I noticed you put more drawings up on your blog very interesting. Are there any stories behind any of these drawings or names for them. Your dog is very cute and very lucky he has a owner like you who bakes him treats.

  4. Not any specific stories at the moment, and no particular names. I like to leave that part up to the viewer unless I must name them or elaborate further because it gives them a chance to create their own story & be able to relate to my work even more in their own peso al way vs. if they read an entire story by me.
I got the idea to do this when I learned in an art history class about the idea of what an author actually is or perceived to be- but that's a whole other post lol
& thank you for the compliment about my doggie! It was nasty outside so he couldn't play there do I decided to do something special for him indoors.

    1. Sorry no I don't have a blog but maybe someday I will and you can come visit. My view of the man with the antlers is one day he was a handsome man but liked to hunt deer but the deer was smarter then him and shot him instead , so when he went to heaven he became part deer. lol a story teller or comedian I am not.
